Mrs Maria Tsimpida is a Paediatric Ophthalmology Consultant at Barts Health NHS Trust. She is the Lead of the Paediatric Ophthalmology Department at Whipps Cross University Hospital in London since 2014.
After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a PhD dissertation in Molecular Biology, she graduated from Athens Medical School. She undertook her Ophthalmology Training at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital and the Royal London Hospital in London and completed fellowships in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Ocular Oncology at the Royal London Hospital, St Bartholomew’s Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital.
She has scientific work and published articles in major Ophthalmic Journals.
She is a fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Association of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
